Holes?

What makes holes in your thinking?

one time, i got hit in the head with a croquet mallet. then a lot of times i have pretty much made a hole in the top of my head with various cabinet doors due to my total lack of depth perception. of course all of this head trauma could be the reason I have holes in my thinking, but i believe that it has more to do with the way i was raised and my personal experiences. okay and the tequila. but still, how do you fill the holes in your thinking? you can't just go in with a drill like a dentist and add some gold to any part of your thinking that is flawed, negative, wrong or dead of old age. speaking of age, there's another thing that causes holes in your thinking....swiss cheese brain, i like to call it. you have to call someone and tell them something important and as soon as they answer the phone you can't remember why the heck you called them. Senility, I think they call it. Or it could just be that my brain cells are smarter than the rest of my body and they are getting the heck out of there.

Ok... the more I think about this one, the more I realize how many times I actually do have holes in my thinking... and sometimes that's a good thing, for example:

1. there are times when I am really in "the zone" and my bla bla bla overactive mind slips through a hole into the whole and that is really a good place to be.

2. at night when I am trying to fall asleep, I can sometimes find a hole in my buzz buzz buzz brain and BINGO... I'm asleep...

3. Of course there are the times when I am so exhausted that there are huge ragged holes where my brain is supposed to be...

4. And if I over medicate... there are the fuzz covered holes that crop up in just about everything that goes through my mind...

A very interesting question.
