Hi there!

This is no longer an active blog. Sorry about that! I've moved my most intriguing questions and answers to my personal blog, shirleytwofeathers. There are some good links here, so feel free to explore, have a great day!

A now moment

For thirty seconds, just be present with yourself.
Are you breathing?
Where is the mind, in the past? the present? or the future?
What emotions are you feeling?
Observe yourself with compassion and non-judgment, then continue with your activity.

no I'm not breathing
my mind is in the past
I feel tired and a little anxious

I am now being really nice to myself.. and continuing with my activities...

Hmmm... that was kind of nice.

I am now breathing...

Wow - 30 seconds can seem like a long time! I wasn't breathing and I was letting my monkey mind go crazy. I did get centered some and start breathing within the 30 seconds and tried to get any thoughts of pain out of my head, which worked briefly. This is something I think maybe I'll try to do every couple hours while here at work - maybe it will help!
