You ate what?

What is the most interesting (unusual, wierd, creepy, funny, ridiculous) thing you ever ate? Why did you eat it? And was it good?

When I was in 6th grade, one summer, my dad and I ate ants. It started as a joke to tease my mother, and we ended up actually doing it.

We went out and got some really big red ants (there are some pretty large ants in the jungles of Ecuador), and first we tried frying them. We put them on a hot skillet, but the heat withered them up into little tiny specks, which we did eat, but it wasn't very rewarding because they were so little.

The next thing we did was we dipped them in melted chocolate. It was a really fun bonding experience.

They were crunchy tasted really peppery.

When I was a child, I used to eat dandelion petals - when the flower was bright and yellow, I would pull off the petals and eat them. They were actually quite good - sort of sweet and crunchy.
