My children and grandchildren requested we go out in the country and shoot guns, grill hot dogs and sit by a campfire the day after Christmas. My granddaughter was afraid to shoot the guns but low and behold I look over a short while later and she is loaded the 22 clip! She had decided that was the one she like to shoot and if she loaded the clip it was her turn!

This reminds me of when I was growing up. We lived in South America, (Ecuador), on a little compound deep in the jungle. The only shotgun we had was an old muzzle loader. My dad was always afraid it would accidently blow someone up. Then, we got a 22... at least I think that's what it was. I was itching to learn how to shoot it. So, one christmas, my dad took, me out to show me how (I think I was about 8 yrs old at the time) and not only did I miss the target by something like 200 feet each time - my aim was so way off... (luckily it was an uninhabited area and the only things that got shot by me were trees)... I couldn't hit anything anywhere near the target... and not only was I a really bad aim, the recoil from the shotgun would knock me down every time. The whole experience scared my dad so badly that he never let me near that gun again. My shoulder was black and blue for a month!

Thanks for reminding me! That was fun!

As for my something funny... on Thanksgiving day I had to work, and we had a thanksgiving potluck dinner. One of my coworkers is exceedingly eccentric, but usually he doesn't say much, but he was feeling really relaxed and cheerful, and he proceeded to tell one of our most conservative and conventional coworkers all about how earth was actually settled by aliens, and that the pale skinned people came from Mars, their skin being pale because the Marsians lived in underground kivas, and other races of people came from Neptune a reptilian planet...

You should have seen the looks on people's faces. It was just hilarious. And since the people I work with are primarily committed to always being "nice" and "polite" and "politically correct", everyone was struggling to be open minded and agreeable... so people were saying "uh huh" as if they agreed. It was so funny!

The funniest thing I can thing of was that Friday morning we were in light snow complete with ice cycles (my grandson had no clue what they were) and by evening we were taking our coats off! All in one day. Amazing. Chicago vs. Atlanta. Chatty Crone
