What do you love about summer?
Hi there!
This is no longer an active blog. Sorry about that! I've moved my most intriguing questions and answers to my personal blog, shirleytwofeathers. There are some good links here, so feel free to explore, have a great day!

On a beautiful, warm summer evening - slicing up a huge watermelon outside in the yard, eating big huge pieces of it, spitting out the black seeds into the yard, getting all sticky and then rinsing off with the hose.
I love fireflies and bullfrogs in the pond. I also love that I don't have to worry about snow, ice, or sleet. I love that the sun stays up so much longer.
I don't like the heat of the day but I love the evenings. I love sitting on the deck after the sun goes down and it cools off - just listening to the quiet and watching the lightning bugs. I also enjoy swimming in the evening when I have the opportunity. I love not having to worry about ice and snow and the roads. I love that it doesn't get dark until later in the evening. I love hearing the ice cream man ring his bell as he goes through the neighborhood.
When I was a kid I loved that summer seemed like it would never end, and when it did come to the end, I loved the whole "back to school" phase - the anticipation of the new school year and the fresh smell of new school supplies.
