Hmmmm... when I was six... I was in first grade, in boarding school, I learned a number of things:
1. putting vaseline in your hair does not make it shiny and pretty.
2. trust no one
3. just because you get an electric shock does not mean that you have been electrocuted and will die - a fact which was extremely disappointing at the time
4. show no weakness - it elicits a feeding frenzy
5. what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and if you get strong enough, and angry enough, and mean enough everyone will leave you alone
when I turned 6 I was in kindergarten and realized that adults could be mean... Learned to stay away from mean kids. I remember this female bully that tried to follow me everywhere and pinch. She kept calling me "smarty pants"! I learned girls my own age could be very mean to wanted to always pinch me!
Shirley,
I don't think you learned #5 well enough, because you're not angry and mean enough to drive us away! We're not gonna leave you alone! :)
I love you Melissa...
