What would you do?

You are at a meal with friends and they start belittling a common acquaintance. You feel their criticism are unjustified. What would you do?

I would first question why they have the opinions they do and if I still felt it was unjustified I would say so.

I think I would share my thinking in an attempt to draw out the reason for their thinking. I would certainly not just sit there silent.

In a situation like this, I would without a doubt say something. And usually it would be something to act as a reminder that we all have our flaws and failures. Nobody's perfect, and there but for the grace of God go I.

I have also been known to say, "Hey you guys are scaring me.... I know I can be a royal jackass plenty of times... and I really hope that I don't end up being the subject of a conversation like this."
