What if

What if things are not as you thought? What if they are really about something entirely different?

I will take it as it comes.

Go with the flow.Thats my philosophy.

I'll just take it as it turns to be...

We must always take things as they come and never like we wanted them to be,at least that's my personal view...

My experience is that things are never really about what I think they are about. And when I look back in retrospect, way too much of my energy gets invested in trying to be in control. What is my life really about anyway? If I knew the real answer to that question... well... many questions would be answered.

I don't think my answer makes any sense.

Now I'm wondering if the question was actually about something totally different... LOL.

But things are not what I think..

Because first comes the experience of the way it is, then comes the thought and the thought of the experience is not the experience itself..

Once the thinking mind absorbs an experience, via the imagination, all sorts of things get added to it and this is immediate as we all see (think things) things from our own perception of them, therefore nothing is as we think and the only truth is - it is as it is and we are at one with it and thinking interferes with that experience by making us all separated. Therefore in the thinking mind, we live a fragmented existence. So what is True Mind? Well words are not adequate to describe that awareness.

Be open for everything, so you will be never disappointed - and expect never too much!

I have been thinking about just this the last couple of days - well the last couple of months. I always assume the worst when I don't know why people act the way they do, but it's really just a lack of information. So when I start to get worried about something I stop and ask myself "What if it's exactly the opposite of what I think? That's as probable as what I'm thinking now." It's hard work - like changing the direction of a freight train. lol But it's starting to get better as time goes on.

I have a deep faith in Christ, so I I believe my life is in someone else's hands anyway. Someone who already knows exactly how things are. And what if my faith turns out not to be as I thought? Then I've merely deluded myself to some measure of peace and happiness throughout my life. No more than many non believers do through other means. That aside, the most delightful AND the most frightful experiences have both come from finding out that things are not as I thought. Thats ok, I'll take the good with the bad.

For me, it would depend on what things we are talking about. If it is a casual thing then no big deal but say it was one of those situations where a couple are married and then one spouse informs the other that they have been living a lie....that would be a totally different reaction for sure!

I'm going to post my answer without reading the others. If it sounds similar, it is simply a case of great minds being in agreement.

I find that things are frequently not quite as they seem. We're all very good at hiding problems and putting the best face forward. When I learn the true situation, I try to be logical and analyze what is the most effective way to help. As a Christian, I try to approach every situation as an opportunity to let God's love be demonstrated through me.

Best wishes from Kentucky, and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
