When you were a child, you wanted to be someone, or do something, when you grew up. What was it? And is that still something you aspire to do or be?

I wanted to be a veterinarian, a lawyer, an Egyptian Priestess, a pirate queen, marine biologist, and an interior designer. Now, i'm a mom of four(herein lies the lawyer and pirate) I have small pets and fish (makeshift vet and marine biologist) and I pretty much won't allow anyone else to decorate anything in my house. As for the Egyptian Priestess....well...I outgrew that one. I still want to be a pirate queen someday though.
I wanted to be Daniel Boone or Tonto, but Roy Rogers had the cool horse and the dog. So it was a dilema. I had a (real) horse which I named Silver, and a (real) dog named Bullet but I had to settle for being Dale Evans because my mother just couldn't let me imagine that I was Roy Rogers or Daniel Boone, or Tonto. It drove her nuts that I wanted to be a "man". She thought Pocahantas or Dale Evans much better choices. And so I made my first agreement to accept "less than"... I agreed to being Dale Evans, but in my heart I was always inscrutable indian with the white guy's cool horse and dog...
At the age of six I wanted to be a cook. At seven I wanted to be Napoleon. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since. ~Salvador Dali
I found this quote and thought it was cool.. so I'm posting it here since it so appropriately fits the question.
